Um, this is by far and away one of the most bizarre.
So, quite some time ago I posted a link to the Vision Forum website. Vision Forum is an uber-conservative Christian ministry that promotes biblical, patriarchal family values. You know, they hate abortion, feminism, evolution, etc. etc. All the stuff we heathens love. They also think women are the property of their husbands and fathers and shouldn't hold public office.
Aaaaanyways - everyone knows that I am mildly obsessed with fundies (hellooo, the Duggars). Obviously I don't agree with many of their views, but that doesn't stop me from being genuinely interested in their opinions and how they make sense of things. I have actually emailed the Duggars with questions about how they manage homeschooling (never got a response. Oh well). I really do want to make an effort to understand where these people are coming from - not for the advancement of my own personal opinions or to cut them down, but because I truly, wholeheartedly, want to know more. Yes, it's a weird fascination to have, but I love culture. Whatevs.
Yesterday evening I wrote a email to the president of Vision Forum asking his ministry's standpoint on women's suffrage - an honest, legitimate questions that I tried to form in the most respectful and unbiased tone possible for a 21-year-old liberally-educated feminist ice hockey player. Sent the email (which I haven't gotten an answer to yet, hopefully these fundies are better with email than the Duggars!) and went to bed, where I proceeded to DREAM that the aforementioned president had HIRED ME AS THE HOMESCHOOL TUTOR FOR HIS CHILDREN. I actually dreamed that I was in this dude's house trying to instruct his 10-12 kids. I was having the kids give their own morning announcements when I woke up.
Some people dream of flying, or dying, or being chased, or of Jeannie. I dream of Christian fundamentalists.
I don't even know.
And this is probably why I have a blog.

Isn't it "rhythm and dancing" instead of ribbon dancing? Or was that a joke? Or am I wrong?
It's a joke; yet another example of a misheard song.
Haha ok just making sure.
