Act 1
At camp teaching outdoor ed. It's February. Scheduled to "teach" swim the snake. The lake is mostly frozen. Kids commence swimming anyway. Group of kids on beach start telling me that they're going to the junior marching band national championships in July. Their teacher blows a long whistle, and they proceed to put on the most breathtaking marching band routine I've ever seen, sans instruments. Kids are doing back flips, all these crazy dance moves and formations. Amazing. Then one of the teachers tells me that they're not really going to the junior marching band national championships, she just tells them that so they'll learn a routine and be "easier to control." Darnell angrily tells teacher that it's unfair to raise the kids' hopes. Fin.Act 2
Jim Delp is narrating everything that goes on at camp as though it's his own autobiography, and people working at camp hear his voice constantly. It's not him talking, just his voice coming out of the sky. He goes off on a tangent about how bitterly cold it gets under the amphitheatre. Then I woke up.
